Tallahassee, FL. May, 2005 -
The
Hampton Inn & Suites I-10/Thomasville Road was the host hotel for the the
2005 USTA Tallahassee Tennis Challenger, a men’s $50,000 event in the ATP
pro-circuit series. This tournament benefits the D. Mark Vogter, M.D.
Memorial Endowment for the Neuro-Intensive Care Unit at Tallahassee Memorial
Healthcare. This unit cares for patients of all ages who suffer neurological
trauma (such as head injuries, strokes), require surgical intervention for
life threatening illnesses (brain tumors, aneurysms), and many other types
of patients too numerous to name. Over the last 5 years, the tournament has
donated over $112,000 to the endowment at the TMH Foundation.
This
year's Challenger had the highest entry level of any $50,000 Challenger
held thus far in 2005 and the
